Here are a list of some not to miss upcoming events in and around Gloucester, VA:

15th Annual GHS Fine Art Show - May 1st to May 24th - During library business hours, creativity, imagination and inspiration come to life the Gloucester Main Library. Visit all month to view amazing art created by Gloucester High School students.

Blue, Brews, & BBQ - May 4th - Sample more than 25 different craft beers, dig into some amazing BBQ (available for purchase), and listen as some of the best Blues musicians in Hampton Roads take the stage at Riverwalk Landing. At 12:30, On the Verge will deliver an entertaining performance style of Funky, Rock and Blues. Then, at 3:30, Brasswind will take the mic to blend the Funk, Soul, R&B, Blues, Motown, Rock N' Roll and a little Beach Music...'Brasswind' brings back that strong classic horn-band sound!. NEW this year – a wine garden with limited tastings included in admission. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. This is a rain or shine event. Proceeds Benefit the York Foundation for Public Education, Inc.

River Jam @ Warner Hall - May 4th - Our 3rd annual River Jam will take place at the historic Inn at Warner Hall, on the banks of the Severn River in Gloucester County. Food trucks, beverages and more while you jam to live music by an eclectic variety of bands.

Concerts on the Green - May 15th - Good Shot Judy - Free concerts held on the beautiful grassy, Court Green (6509 Main Street). Bring a chair or blanket (no seating provided) and even a picnic!

3rd Annual Faery Fest - May 18th - Gloucester Main Street is transformed into a Fairyland complete with street performers, henna tattoo artist, face painters, exihibts, demonstrations, sales, games, acitivites, prizes, and special Faery photo opportunities. Costumes encouraged! All ages welcome! Rave design+build is transforming our back patio into a Faery garden with pixie dust sand art and photo opp with Tidewater Photographers.

VIMS Marine Science Day - May 18th - VIMS' annual open house is a fun-filled event for the whole family. Visitors can examine high-tech science equipment, tour a laboratory, collect and observe aquatic animals in the York River, and discover the importance of wetlands in VIMS’ Teaching Marsh. A cooking demonstration, mini-lectures, and hands-on activities take place throughout the day. All activities are free.

Tour De Chesapeake Mathews Cycling Weekend - May 17th to May 19th - The County of Mathews, Mathews Land Conservancy and Mathews Visitor Center invite you to the 21st Annual Tour De Chesapeake!! This full weekend is jam packed with activities for families to enjoy. Flat, scenic routes, entertainment, art tour, water sports, live music, unique lodging, seafood feast and party at Williams Wharf -- experience the best of Mathews County!
